                These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PawForward website and services operated by PawForward LLC ("PawForward," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
            

1. About PawForward

PawForward LLC is an online education platform that trains veterans and their families to evaluate shelter dogs and train them as service dogs. We offer online courses, certifications, educational content, and community resources. Our mission is to reduce veteran suicide rates and save shelter dogs' lives simultaneously.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase courses. By using our services, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration

To purchase courses or access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete registration information
Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Courses and Enrollment

Course access: Upon successful payment, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to access the purchased course content. Course access is for individual use only — sharing login credentials or redistributing course materials is prohibited.

Course content: Course content is for educational purposes only. PawForward courses teach dog evaluation and training techniques, but successful outcomes depend on individual dogs, circumstances, and effort. We do not guarantee specific results.

Completion certificates: Certificates are issued based on self-reported completion and payment. PawForward certificates are proprietary credentials issued by PawForward LLC and are not accredited by any government or veterinary body.

5. Payments

All purchases are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. By providing payment information, you authorize Stripe to charge the listed amount. Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice (changes do not affect already-purchased courses).

You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

6. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of our course content:

Online courses: Refund requests submitted within 30 days of purchase will be honored — no questions asked. Email hello@thepawforward.com to request a refund.
Donations: Donations are non-refundable as they are processed as charitable contributions to support our mission.
Discretionary refunds: We may issue refunds at our sole discretion in cases of exceptional circumstances.

7. Donations

Donations made through our site support PawForward's mission to provide service dog training resources to veterans. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. PawForward LLC is a for-profit LLC and donations are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including course materials, videos, text, graphics, logos, assessments, and certificates — is owned by or licensed to PawForward LLC. You may not:

Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display course content
Create derivative works from our materials
Use our content for commercial purposes without written permission
Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our course curriculum for resale

The PawForward name, logo, and "Saving lives at both ends of the leash" tagline are trademarks of PawForward LLC.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Use the site for any unlawful purpose
Harass, threaten, or harm other users
Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or our systems
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or extract content
Impersonate PawForward, its staff, or other users
Resell or commercially distribute course access or materials

10. No Professional Advice

Important: PawForward course content is for educational purposes only. It does not constitute veterinary, medical, legal, or professional advice. Training dogs involves inherent risks. Always consult a qualified veterinarian or professional dog trainer for guidance specific to your dog's health and situation. PawForward is not responsible for outcomes resulting from the application of course content.

11. Third-Party Services

Our site integrates third-party services including Stripe (payments), Meta (advertising), and others. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

PawForward's services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PawForward LLC, its owners, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of data, lost profits, or personal injury. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold PawForward LLC and its officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which PawForward LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction, and you waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits against us.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to our services at our discretion, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your license to access course content ends. Refunds for terminations due to Terms violations are not guaranteed.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PawForward LLC regarding your use of our services, and supersede any prior agreements.
